Pixelmator Photo deserves to do well because it's powerful, it's very easy to get into and it rewards learning. Until Photoshop comes, there's arguably only Pixelmator Photo and Affinity Photo. Affinity Photo provides impressive editing power for less than £50 - and, at the time of this review was on special offer for just £23.99. The app's list of features is long and - for less. No surprise here. Because of Affinity’s one-time payment option coupled with. Affinity Photo is like Photoshop and if you haven' used PS, then AP can have a steep learning curve. Pixelmator is easier to use but a lot less powerful. Professional image editing tools that anyone can use. It is a graphic editor developed for macOS, and built upon a combination of open-source and macOS technologies. It uses Core Image and OpenGL technologies that use the Mac's video card for image processing. Affinity Photo and Pixelmator can be categorized as 'Graphic Design' tools.
Hi,
Need a tool to edit photos but would prefer staying away from Photoshop / Lightroom.
I do not need a complex tool, just something a bit more comprehensive than the Photos App allowing me to edit my photos ?
Currently contemplating using either Pixelmator Pro or Affinity, which both sound like adequate editing tools, but which one to choose ?
I am a plane spotter, so I manly take plane photos thus needing editing tool to work on color, contrast, light etc...

I take all my photos in RAW format. I see that each app has a different approach to RAW file, but I don't know enough to understand the difference.
Pixelmator Review
Pixelmator Affinity Photoshop
Anyone with experience in both app able to recommend which one I should choose ?
Thanks
