As mentioned, Evernote has several apps, including for Windows and Mac, which give you offline access to your notes. Evernote has an Android app and an iPhone app, although for access to your notes offline via the mobile apps, you need the appropriate tier of service. There's also a web app that works in any browser; the beauty of having a web.

Older versions of Evernote

It's not uncommon for the latest version of an app to cause problems when installed on older smartphones. Sometimes newer versions of apps may not work with your device due to system incompatibilities. Until the app developer has fixed the problem, try using an older version of the app. If you need a rollback of Evernote, check out the app's version history on Uptodown. It includes all the file versions available to download off Uptodown for that app. Download rollbacks of Evernote for Mac. Any version of Evernote distributed on Uptodown is completely virus-free and free to download at no cost.

Overview

Saferoom is a set of mobile and desktop apps that keeps your private data safe by providing zero-knowledge encryption for Evernote and other cloud services. Saferoom allows you to create new types of notes - encrypted note including any kind of attachments (PDF, images, audio, video and etc.). Saferoom encrypts your Evernote notes locally and only encrypted data leaves your device. All encryption and decryption operations are done in memory and locally. To protect your data Saferoom uses AES-256 bit encryption.

Additionally, Saferoom doesn't have any accounts, and it means that your passwords are stored locally in secure form in the current device and are not synchronized anywhere and never leave your device. However, it also means that your password cannot be restored.

To start encrypting your private data, you need to download Saferoom from Apple Mac App Store and configure the notebooks that will be used for encryption and decryption operations. Saferoom Free version works completely offline and doesn't require any Evernote accounts - it works directly with the Evernote Mac App.

Evernote Version History

All your encrypted notes are still Evernote notes, however, their content and attachments are encrypted and can be decrypted on any device with Saferoom.
